DAY 1: HANOI ARRIVAL – WATER PUPET SHOW
Upon arrival, a local guide with your private driver will pick you up and transfer you to your hotel.
Note: Normal check in time for hotels is 14:00
In late afternoon, take a short visit to Hanoi Old Quarter by cyclo, and enjoy a traditional water puppet performance, a uniquely north Vietnamese art form depicting scenes from rural life and episodes of national history.
Overnight in Hanoi.
Distances and journey time: Noi Bai Airport to your chosen hotel in Hanoi (35km): 60mins.
DAY 2: HANOI – HA LONG b, l, d
In the morning, leave Hanoi for Halong Bay, a stunning UNESCO World Heritage site with its 3,000 islands of towering limestone dotting the bay and Gulf of Tonkin.
Arrive at noon and proceed with check-in formalities. After a welcome onboard, lunch will be served while cruising towards the bay. In the afternoon, enjoy some visits and/or activities (depending on each boat’s itinerary) or just spend some time relaxing on board. Towards the end of the day the boat sets anchor for the night among the karst formations. Dinner is served on board.

DAY 3: HA LONG – HUE b
Early in the morning and depending on the season, you will wake up to enjoy the sunrise over the aquamarine waters of the bay. Breakfast is served on board (brunch on some boats) while the cruise will tour around the bay until you disembark at the end of the morning.
Then transfer back to Hanoi for a flight to Hue.
Upon arrival, your guide will transfer to hotel in Hue.

DAY 4: HUE – DMZ FULL DAY b, l
After breakfast at the hotel, you will leave Hue in the morning and head to the DMZ to explore the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), which became the fiercest battlefields during the Vietnam War from 1954 to 1975. The tour highlights include Hien Luong Bridge, the Doc Mieu Base, the closest American base to the DMZ. The last stop of the day will be the Quang Tri Citadel before returning to Hue. Lunch is served at a local restaurant.

DAY 5: HUE CITY TOUR – DA NANG – HOI AN b
Breakfast at the hotel.
A morning tour focuses on the Imperial Citadel, built in 1804 on a site chosen in accordance with geomancy and the elaborate mausoleums of Emperor Tu Duc. The last stop is Dong Ba market.
In the afternoon, transfer to Da Nang via the Pass of Ocean Clouds and drop down to the wonderfully photogenic fishing village of Lang Co.
On arrival in Danang, visit the Cham Museum, containing the finest collection of Cham sculpture in the world. Continue to Hoi An, a major Asian trading port in the 17th and 18th centuries, whose architecture and relaxed lifestyle has changed little over the years.
Transfer to the hotel.

DAY 6: HOI AN – COOKING CLASS & CITY TOUR b, l
Ride your bike to Tra Que village. Here, you join the local farmers in their planting and picking vegetables. At lunch, you will have a chance to enjoy the village specialties: tam huu (small skewers of pork and prawns), various kinds of shrimps, pork and herbs, as well as six other dishes of the region.
After lunch time, take a walking tour to explore Hoi An town. It was a major Asian trading port in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries and its architecture and relaxed lifestyle have changed little over the years.

DAY 7: HOI AN – HO CHI MINH – CU CHI TUNNELS BY SPEEDBOAT b
After breakfast at hotel, transfer to Da Nang airport for short flight to Ho Chi Minh city.
Upon arrival, your guide and driver will pick you to your hotel.
Instead of a car trip as other normal tours, you will access Cu Chi tunnels by speedboat on the Saigon River where you learn the local life along the banks on your way. Visit the famous underground tunnels which the guerilla fighters lived during the wartime. A traditional Vietnamese lunch will be served before your visit. Return to your hotel in the afternoon then free to discover Saigon on your own.

DAY 8: HO CHI MINH – DEPARTURE b
Free at leisure until transfer to Tan Son Nhat airport for your onward flight.
