Travel tips
Vietnam
The Vietnamese used to greet one another by clasping their hands, prayer-like, in front of their faces and bowing slightly. Unfortunately, this charming custom has been replaced by the handshake.
Laos
Vientiane is Southeast Asia’s smallest capital city with a population of 800,000 inhabitants. Located along a bend of the Mekong River in the north-west of the country, the city exudes a laidback atmosphere and old world charm with its mix of Chinese shop houses and French colonial architecture.
Laos
Lao people are very polite, courteous and it is recommended to adopt the same attitude when addressing to them, as well as to never touch their heads, nor touch or point anything with your feet.
Cambodia
Always take your shoes off when entering a temple or when visiting private houses. Never touch anybody’s head intentionally as it is regarded as a particularly holy part of the body. Accordingly, the feet are literally the lowest part of the body so do not point your feet at anybody or at a Buddha image.
Vietnam
Among the most eulogised of Vietnam’s star components is its central region. The area encompasses some of Vietnam’s best stretches of coastline. In addition, it boasts world-class heritage attractions and leisure options that range from golf courses to cooking classes and bicycle rides around the bucolic countryside. With Danang as its chief hub, the region is also easily accessible by air, adding to its allure.
