ITINERARY

Vietnam   -  14 days 13 nights

DAY 1: HANOI – ARRIVAL D

Upon arrival, a local guide with your private driver will pick you up and transfer you to your hotel.

Note: Normal check in time for hotels is 14:00

A welcome dinner is arranged at a local restaurant.  

Overnight in Hanoi.

Noi Bai Airport to your chosen hotel in Hanoi (35km): 60mins.

DAY 2: HANOI – FULL DAY STREET FOOD & CITY TOUR B, L

This morning you will join a local blogger for a fascinating street food tour of Hanoi's eateries.

In the afternoon, visit Hanoi’s first university; the Temple of Literature,  Hoan Kiem Lake, Ngoc Son Temple and take 01-hour cyclo ride to the Old French Quarters and Dong Xuan Market. Final stop is at a local coffee shop to enjoy a cup of Egg coffee to understand why local people and visitors fall for love with this unique drink. 

The rest of the day is free at leisure.

DAY 3: HA NOI – HA LONG B, L, D

In the morning, leave Hanoi for Halong Bay, a stunning UNESCO World Heritage site with its 3,000 islands of towering limestone dotting the bay and Gulf of Tonkin. 

Arrive at noon and proceed with check-in formalities. After a welcome onboard, lunch will be served while cruising towards the bay. In the afternoon, enjoy some visits and/or activities (depending on each boat’s itinerary) or just spend some time relaxing on board. Towards the end of the day the boat sets anchor for the night among the karst formations. Dinner is served on board.

DAY 4: HA LONG – HANOI – HOI AN B

Early in the morning and depending on the season, you will wake up to enjoy the sunrise over the aquamarine waters of the bay. Breakfast is served on board (brunch on some boats) while the cruise will tour around the bay until you disembark at the end of the morning.

Then transfer back to Hanoi for a flight to Da Nang. 

Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel in Hoi An.

DAY 5: HOI AN –COOKING SCHOOL EXPERIENCE & WALKING TOUR B, L

Today will start with a trip to Hoi An's bustling morning market where a local chef will introduce you to some of the key ingredients needed in order to create many of Vietnam's most admired dishes. After sourcing the ingredients you will accompany the chef back to the revered Red Bridge Cookery School. Spend cooking and sampling many Vietnamese favourites before returning to your hotel.

In the afternoon, take a short walking tour to explore Hoi An town. It was a major Asian trading port in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries and its architecture and relaxed lifestyle have changed little over the years.

DAY 6: HOI AN – MY SON SANCTURY B

Depart for My Son, a complex of Hindu temples, a Unesco World Heritage site, that were constructed by the Champa kingdom and ruled the Central and Southern part of Vietnam from around the 3rd to the 17th century. Return to your hotel after the visit.

DAY 7: HOI AN – DA NANG – HO CHI MINH – A O SHOW B, D

After breakfast, transfer to Da Nang airport for short flight to Ho Chi Minh city.

On arrival, pick up and transfer to your hotel.

In the evening, enjoy A O show at the Opera House to discover more about the charming beauty and richest Vietnam culture in the countryside and the urbanization of Vietnam in 60-minute length. A dinner at a Vietnamese restaurant.

DAY 8: HO CHI MINH – CU CHI TUNNELS B, L

One of the most visited places in Saigon is the historic Cu Chi tunnel network, dug by resourceful guerrilla fighters during the Vietnam War, it has survived numerous intense battles. A traditional Vietnamese lunch will be served after your visit.

Overnight in Ho Chi Minh 

Optional: Evening Food Tour with Vespa Wanderers 

This evening you will embark on a fascinating discovery through the streets of Saigon on the back of a Vespa. You will enjoy tasty street food, local music and a wonderful atmosphere. This will be a memorable evening and a real highlight before travelling home.

DAY 9: HO CHI MINH – CAI BE – CAN THO B, L

After a 2.5hrs drive from Saigon to the heart of the Mekong Delta, the small town of Cai Be, board on a local boat along Mekong river with visits to family-run companies which make rice pancakes, puffed corn cookies and coconut milk candy. Enjoy lunch with specialties of the Mekong Delta in the ambience of an ancient house. After lunch, get on the cruise for a garden center, sample fruits, wine, traditional music and crossing Co Chien River. In the late afternoon, head to Can Tho.

DAY 10: CAN THO – PHU QUOC B

Wake up early for a breakfast cruise to the colourful Cai Rang Floating Market bustling with wholesalers on big boats. Here, during the early morning market hours, larger sized boats anchor and create lanes that smaller boats weave in and out of. The main items sold here are fruit and vegetables and every boat has a long upright pole at its bow from which samples of the goods for sale are hung. The waterway becomes a maze of hundreds of boats packed with mango, bananas, papaya, pineapple, and even floating pho vendors.

Following the visit to Cai Rang, take a short flight to Phu Quoc.
